Nigeria's Senate President, Senator David Mark has said that President Goodluck Jonathan is the only candidate, for now, that can move the country forward.

According to Tribune, Mark, who was speaking during the zonal campaign of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Otukpo opined that, "Jonathan remains the best that can move the nation forward."

Mark reeled out the achievements of PDP since 1999 in Otukpo and he advised the people to support the party by voting all PDP candidates in the forthcoming elections, saying, "Together we shall move Benue forward."

Governor Gabriel Suswam who also spoke at the campaign rally, said the presidential candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC), General Muhammad Buhari represents terrorist group, Boko Haram. He told the gathering that that those who attacked Benue State two years ago "are Boko Haram in guise of Fulami herdsmen."

Suswam called on the people of the state to vote overwhelmingly for all PDP candidates in the forthcoming general elections, as well as President Jonathan, in order for Nigeria to grow.

Also speaking, the controversial Minister of Interior, Mr. Abba Moro, eulogised the transformation agenda of hids boss, saying he had improved the living standard of Nigerians.

He appealed to the people of Benue South senatorial district and the people of the state in general to vote enmasse for Jonathan and senate president, David Mark.

Meanwhile, Nigeria's former President, Shehu Shagari has refuted a story that he endorsed President Goodluck Jonathan and lauded his administration.
